FROM OLD PRODUCTION AREAS, REPRESENTS THE BEGINNING OF A TRULY DISCOVERY INNOVATIVE JOURNEY, A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE IN THE COUNTRY.
The Casa da Ínsua Historic Center Area is part of the recovery and renovation project of an important classified historic heritage, valuing not only the Casa da Ínsua as a unique in the country, but as well as the enhancement of the national history, particularly regarding the Portuguese and Brazilian relationships in 18th century, through the work of Luís de Albuquerque de Mello Pereira e Cáceres, who was a governor and captain-general of the captaincy of Mato Grosso (Brazil) between 1772 and 1788.

Though this project, which is the result of a close collaboration of Visabeira Turismo with the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (National Museum of Ancient Art), Casa da Insua diversifies and renders its tourist offer even more unique and, by association, the entire offer of central region of the country, offering the general public the opportunity of experiencing an important cultural heritage, including an area reserved for resear-chers interested or for those who are simply interested in the subject.

The numerous historical and cultural attractions of this house, built by order of Luís de Albuquerque during the Baroque period, are completed by the renovated spaces for different purposes than its original purpose, or whose renovation aims to meet its original idea, such as the Metalwork workshop.
